Shopify Specialist - Fellowship
Shopify Specialist:
While this role is ideal for a Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) fellow, we are also accepting and considering direct hires who are the right fit for our team. After completion, it is a 1099 contractor position. As a Shopify Specialist at YellowWebMonkey, you will be responsible for managing and customizing Shopify websites for our clients. Your day-to-day tasks will include setting up and configuring Shopify stores, editing custom themes and templates, optimizing site performance, and providing ongoing support and maintenance.
Requirements
● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
● Ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members
● Ability to learn new things in a dynamic technical environment
Preferred Skills
● Experience with Shopify or other website platforms
● Experience with our tech stack: Google Apps, Slack, Zendesk,
● Experience with Canva or similar software

● We are willing to train most of these skills to someone who is motivated, picks up tasks easily, and is passionate about doing a project well and to completion.
What to Expect Post-Fellowship
FELLOWSHIP: This is a 12-week fellowship available to current members of the Hiring our Heroes program.
POST FELLOWSHIP JOB: This is a 1099 contractor position that is ongoing as a years long position. All team members are in similar contracts, and many have been on the team for 5+ years. There are no benefits, and you are responsible for your own tax withholding.
POSITION: This job is a specialist position, with the opportunity to move to other positions in the future, such as project management, SEO, account rep, etc.
SCHEDULE: Overall, there is a lot of flexibility, and that is why team members like our agency. We prefer the bulk of those hours to be within client hours, which is 8 AM EST to 6 PM PST. You make your own schedule, and we support a work-life balance. Most of us take time off for kids’ events, working out, as well as extended periods like spring break.
POST FELLOWSHIP PAY: The starting pay is $18/hr, with the potential to increase with additional responsibilities and performance. Top personnel make around $25-30/hr.
WORKPLACE: We believe in a cohesive team dynamic with respect for each other’s differences, yet avoid discussions about political, religious, and other views. Part of having work flexibility is helping other team members when they have a sick kid, are out on vacation, and so forth.
