So you want a website, now what??? Here are the steps to getting a website with YellowWebMonkey. Feel free to use the contact form on this page or call us today and we will step you through the process. Pick a name for the site; that is the domain name (whatever.com). I recommend you come up with a list ahead of time because a lot of names are already taken. Purchase that name and monthly hosting. We use iPower for the sites we run (pro plan has everything you will ever need). They are affordable, don’t have weird extra fees and have good tech support. Regardless of who you go with, do not pay more than $10/yr for the domain and $10/mo for the hosting. We sit and talk about what you want exactly for your site. We will give you a written estimate for the work. Send us the username/password for the hosting so we can start designing. We build the site for you. We teach you how to use the site, get your email set up, etc We send you an invoice and you pay us

We also encourage our clients to purchase their own domain and hosting (we use iPower Hosting for all our sites). There are only a few large companies that sell domains and hosting in this country. However, there are hundred of resellers that mark up the price at every step. Even with the most complex eCommerce site, you should not be paying more than $10/year for your domain name and $10/month for your hosting.
Why doesn't YellowWebMonkey provide these services? Because frankly, those aren't services we would be providing out of our offices; we would just be taking your money and handing it to the same people you could be buying direct from. Additionally, we think it is important that our clients completely own their website. Beware of web design companies that put your domain name and hosting in their name. If you have a dispute later, you could lose the name that you have spent money advertising.
